Molly's story

Hi! My name is Molly, and I am a Maltipoo. Just over two years ago, I woke up dirty and matted and cold. I was in a BIG cage, and the big pens around me were full of BIG dogs who barked a lot. Soon I was moved into a smaller cage in a little room where there were only other little dogs. They put a sign on my pen, and it said, “Biter.”

Then some people came and looked at me, someone gently lifted me out of my cage, and we all went outside to a little play area. The man who was carrying me put me in another man’s arms, and that man told me how pretty and sweet I was, then he handed me to a lady who told me I was such a sweet thing. The man and lady told the first man that they wanted to take me home, but he said they could not adopt me because I hadn’t been “spayed” yet. People said they did not want to leave me there. Other man said it was okay; I could go home with them as a “foster,” and after they brought me back to be spayed, they could adopt me. “OKAY!” the people said. I was taken away to be “chipped” and have some shots, then they took me back and put me in the lady’s arms, and we left that place. She cuddled me until we got to someplace they called, “the groomer,” and when I got there, some friendly people shaved off all my mats and gave me a nice warm bath and rubbed me all over and told me what a pretty girl I was.

The two friendly people came back, and we got in the car again. We got to a place where they told me I was in my forever home. There were soft beds, clean water, and people who were gentle with me. When I went to bed that night, it was in my own bed on a bench at the foot of their bed; it was soft and clean. I woke up during the night with the lady standing over me, she put her hand on me, and I was shivering because I was so cold. She picked me up, put something called jammies on me, and put me back on my bed with a blanket over me. When I woke up the next morning, I was clean and warm and beginning to feel safe.

These people, now definitely Mommy and Daddy, have given me such a beautiful life, and they are even taking me to school, and every morning when I wake up, I know that I am safe and life is good.

I am putting in a picture of me before and after the nice people.

P.S. from Mom:

Molly was a gamble when we brought her home, she was an abused puppy mill mom, afraid of everything. She is such a sweet girl and has come so far, about to graduate from Advanced Obedience Training at PetSmart. We are so proud of her, and I have promised that she will never be cold again.
